Eco-Stable
What if your stable isn't just a dry place to sleep, but a living ecosystem? A place where well-being, sustainability, and convenience come together. Where microorganisms do the heavy lifting, and you primarily adjust where necessary. That's the idea behind the Eco-Stable.
No ammonia smell as soon as you close the door. No exhausting cleaning rounds. No senseless waste of straw. But a good stable climate that eventually turns into valuable soil nutrition.
Welcome to the world of natural stable management.
Why choose an Eco-Stable?
The Eco-Stable works with nature instead of against it. Instead of putrefaction processes and harmful emissions, we create a living system of positive microorganisms, rock dust, and diverse organic material. These three work together to bind moisture, neutralize ammonia, and convert manure into stable organic matter.
The result? A stable, low-odor stable bed where your animal enjoys staying and which ultimately saves you work and costs.
The benefits at a glance:
- A natural and healthy stable climate, free from toxic fumes
- Fewer flies and putrefaction odor
- Fewer hoof and skin problems and respiratory complaints
- Much less use of stable litter (up to 90%)
- No waste: the end product is rich, directly usable fertilizer
- Ecologically and economically beneficial
You work with nature. And you invest in soil fertility, biodiversity, and the cycle that connects everything.
How does it work?
The secret lies in the cooperation between material and micro-life. Urine and manure are not discarded but absorbed, processed, and composted in situ.
The stable bed consists of a diverse mixture of fiber-rich material (such as straw, flax, hemp fibers, rapeseed straw, and leaves) supplemented with rock dust, lava meal, and clay minerals. By regularly nebulizing with a solution of positive microorganisms (such as our Multi-Task), a buffer layer is created in which organic material is slowly broken down.
On top of this living underlayer lies a dry top layer. The animal always stands on a dry, comfortable surface, while something beautiful develops underneath: a natural compost layer that can remain for months, sometimes even years.
Daily maintenance? Simpler than you think.
Every situation is unique, but maintenance roughly follows this line:
- Daily: remove manure balls
- Weekly: scoop out old material from overly wet spots, sprinkle some lava, fill the hole with existing material, and apply a fresh top layer
- 1-2 times a week: nebulize the bed with a microorganism solution
- Once a week: sprinkle a few handfuls of rock dust or lava meal
This way, you keep the microflora active and give the stable bed exactly what it needs to keep itself in balance. The beauty of it? The longer you work with it, the better the system regulates itself.
Starting an Eco-Stable
For a stable of approximately 16 m², you will need:
- 1 liter Multi-Task (dissolved in 20 l water)
- 25 kg clay minerals
- 25 kg rock dust (such as Vulkamin, Actimin, or Eifel lava)
- Diverse stable litter: a mix of short and long fibers, NO wood shavings
Here's how to get started:
- Make a solution of 1 liter Multi-task in 20 liters of water.
- Wet the floor with ±10 liters of this solution (the stable does not need to be empty or extra clean).
- Spread 12.5 kg of clay minerals and 12.5 kg of rock dust over this.
- Apply a generous layer of stable filling with a mix of long and short fibers (e.g., 1 pack of hemp fibers, 1 pack of flax shives, 1 pack of rapeseed straw, and 3 bales of straw). Finish with long fibers such as straw.
- Spray this layer with the remaining 10 liters of Multi-task solution.
- Sprinkle again with 12.5 kg of clay minerals and 12.5 kg of rock dust.
After about 8 weeks, repeat these steps on a small scale, and switch to maintenance.
And what happens to the 'manure' then?
That's the beauty of it: it doesn't become waste, but a valuable soil improver. The underlayer of the Eco-Stable is rich in organic matter, trace elements, and micro-life. Ideal for pastures, vegetable gardens, or composting.
Do you want to renew the stable bed? Push the top layer aside, scoop the underlayer into the manure spreader and spread it directly over the land. The top layer can then be used as a base for a new Eco-Stable. This way, the system is circular, efficient, and friendly to the wallet.

Eco-Stable in practice
Whether you work with horses, goats, chickens, or pigs, an Eco-Stable can be applied on almost any scale. It is important to work with variety in stable material, focus on a living soil, and actively support the microorganism environment.
And the best part? It smells fresher, feels nicer, and makes the work lighter. No more heavy cleaning, but small actions that keep the system in balance. You work with nature, not against it.
Choosing an Eco-Stable means choosing circular thinking
What your animal excretes becomes food for the soil. What nourishes the soil, in turn, nourishes the animal. The Eco-Stable is a tangible way to close that cycle. And at the same time, a step towards regenerative and holistic management of your farm, animals, and land.
